TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – It may be the offseason for Northern Michigan’s RV resorts, but you could definitely say there is something new afoot at Traverse Bay RV Resort.  Aptly described as “North of Ordinary,” Traverse Bay RV Resort recently underwent an extensive rebranding process that Owners and Developers David and Kathy Scheppe hope will better reflect the relaxing-yet-lively lifestyle found here.

The Scheppes say the new logo’s vibrant red flip flops reflect the energy and enthusiasm shared at Traverse Bay. While it is hard to imagine wearing flip flops now in Northern Michigan, one visit in-season opens eyes to gorgeous weather, outdoor beauty, onsite amenities and endless local adventures. Also refreshed is the resort’s new user-friendly Web site, TraverseBayRV.com. It now features a series of video testimonials, photo galleries, news updates and area information. Additionally, the site showcases the resort’s dual emphasis of both for-sale lots and rental options.

“We wanted to ensure that our casual lifestyle was reflected in the new logo,” said David Scheppe. “If you’ve never been here before, this is like a secret paradise. Our resort is more than a great location with great amenities, it’s an experience. The people who stay here are active and want to get out and explore the region, participate in great events on the property and make new friends.”

David Scheppe explained that Traverse Bay RV Resort differentiates itself by making RVers feel as though they are in a different world. The entire resort rests on 150 acres amid a barrier of trees, giving
the illusion there is not another building for miles. He says that when guests arrive, they are always surprised at how serene Traverse Bay is, but they also have the best of both worlds: the benefit of seclusion along with everything close by. To help articulate this experience, the Scheppes hired Kidd Group, a leading marketing firm out of Florida, to handle the rebrand.

“We listened closely to how David and Kathy described the lifestyle at Traverse Bay and went to visit the site ourselves prior to starting this project,” said Colleen Schuster, Senior Account Manager at Kidd Group. “This new brand absolutely embodies the Traverse Bay RV Resort experience and the Scheppes’ vision for the resort in coming years.”

Kathy Scheppe, who grew up in Traverse Bay and has lived in Traverse City, Mich., for most of her life, says she now realizes she had taken for granted the paradise surrounding her. Married for more than 34 years, the Scheppes enjoyed RVing as a retreat from their hectic lives as business owners in Northern Michigan. When they made the decision to ultimately purchase Traverse Bay RV Resort, they entered as owners, not developers. They say their goal remains maintaining the laid-back lifestyle they fell in love with at Traverse Bay.

The Scheppes have started developing phase three of the resort, which will allow for even more visitors with a similar enthusiasm for life. The Scheppes will be “on-tour” at numerous RV rallies and conventions during the coming months.
